I have a Nikon that at least to me is quite fancy. I have been told by several good photographers that for the amount of photography that I do leaving it on automatic focus and letting the camera do the work I am just as well off, instead of working with all the focusing and adjusting it takes to get a good picture. Is there anyone out there with an opinion on this subject.

Thanks GDC

I have looked at your gallery and being nothing but a novice myself, if you are taking those photos with the camera on auto focus I would just leave it alone and enjoy taking pictures.

I think with my ability and time I will just leave it on auto focus

On modern cameras auto focus is nearly always best. I sometimes experiment with manual setting for aperature and shutter speed control.

Although auto focus is good I have had problems with good exposures using aperature or shutter priority.
